Mary Eastwood

 Mary Eastwood is a Canadian artist living in southern Ontario & drawing from her inspiration of her extensive European travels as well as her childhood memories of living in northern Ontario.  Mary is primarily a self taught artist but has studied under Florent Farges, Todd M Casey, Shari Blaukopf & Scott Christensen.  She started working on large acrylic abstract landscapes & has recently discovered her love of watercolour & ink. "I love it when someone gets excited about a piece of my art.  Everyone should be able to enjoy original art in their home.  It gives a sense of peace to a space".

Vidhya Srijesh

Vidhya is an Indian-born Canadian Artist, who is also a wife, and mother of two little prodigy artists. Her passion for art started young when she won a school competition for drawing a mother and baby elephant. As a kid, she loves to draw everything that she saw. With very limited access to art supplies, she started with pencil drawings and collages by sticking flowers, magazines, laces from old dresses, her broken accessories, and much more to create art.
Drifted away for a while by the changes thrown by life, Moving to Canada has helped to rediscover the Artist in her. Her access to colors and art supplies made her feel like a kid who has access to an entire Candy shop. She started experimenting with acrylics and mixed media. Her art has got featured in several online art galleries and art communities/associations.
Vidhya had an opportunity to have a break from her full-time job with her second baby. She thought that it is the right time to learn and explore more about her passion. So she joined the online Mastery program at Milan Art Institute. It helped her to learn more about the mediums and resources she had which sculpted her as a Professional Artist. Her art is Eclectic, Bold, and Colorful, and has a lot of textures to make you smile. It is with her art, that she wanted to spread positivity and hope to the world.
She is on a Colorful and fun journey that she has just started exploring.

Emma Anderson

Hello! My name is Emma Anderson and I’m a 19-year-old artist from Ontario. I’ve been in love with creating things for as long as I can remember, and I truly believe that my putting my own art into the world is my passion and purpose. I’ve always favoured pencil drawing because of the control you have but recently I have been exploring all different types of painting techniques. Almost my whole life I hated painting because I felt like it had to be either so perfect or so meaningful but one day, I just created an abstract piece and drew a design over it with white paint pens and boom! I felt like something awoke inside of me. I want to keep trying out new things, right now I’m trying surrealism and I think that’s my favourite. I still practice pencil drawings almost every day and spend hours on a single portrait. I hope to one day make this my full-time career, as well as becoming a tattoo artist and continue to put my creations into the world.

Matt Post

Matt Post works in traditional and digital mediums. Matt sketches and illustrates, with influence from fantasy art, pop art, comics, and surrealism. Matt prefers mediums that are cheap and accessible to most people, in order to retain a child-like doodling approach and simplicity that captures the spontaneity of an idea without too much planning or preparation. These mediums include crayola pencil crayons, construction paper, dollar store paints, and permanent markers. Many of Matt's recent drawings have depicted monsters from the Kaiju genre of Japanese film. This subject allows a study of the human form, but a form that's obscured and distorted into something more imaginative and humorous. Matt is mostly self-taught, having never formally studied fine art, although as a child he took classes at the RMG and Arts Resource Center. Matt joined the OAA in 2020 and works as Programs Director. He studied music production at Algonquin College, and is a prolific songwriter with four self-released albums in the last year. Using traditional techniques, Jordan’s work ranges from figurative sculpture, imaginative realism, to classical architectural stone ornamentation.

Springing from the inspiration he found in historical architecture as he worked as a certified stonemason, the path of stone carving and stone cutting was a natural progression for Jordan. Gripped with intrigue from geometrical constructions, gothic motifs, and the human figure rendered in stone, he has delved into many facets that modern sculpture offers.

Reinterpreting ancient architectural patterns and decoration, Jordan applies his craft to the expression of the sculptor, placing emphasis on traditional technique. 

Jordan has studied at The Academy of Realist Art Toronto, The Toronto School of Art, and The New Masters Academy. He has exhibited in Canada and internationally, most recently receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Portrait Society of Canada in The 2021 Miracle of the Portrait Competition. 

His studio is in Port Perry, Ontario.

Karen Coyle

Karen began painting in 2017, thanks to the inspiration of Terry Gill. She started with watercolour, moved onto acrylic and is now dabbling with oils and mixed media.  With no formal training, Karen continues to learn new techniques through Youtube and guidance from her artist friends. 

Aside from painting, she also enjoys creating a variety of crafts including resin art and crochet.

“I am an independent visual artist/ceramist, internationally lecturer/instructor with more than 24 years of experience in overseeing the implementation of educational, artistic, entrepreneurial and administrative initiatives in large urban centers. My pedagogical accomplishments include the publication of 6 books on Art History, Graphic, and Handicrafts, along with 15 years of academic lecturing, and the honour of serving three years as the Dean of an art faculty. With a bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts and a master’s degree in Art History, I possess a holistic understanding of art and culture rooted in my desire to enhance the cultural life of communities.

I have provided artistic services, such as environmental graphic design and advertising to local businesses and campaigns. As an art director, I have the experience of doing research, planning, and coordination for urban and academic art projects.
Immediately after settling in Canada, I persevered and found Canada to be a country that offered a great deal of opportunity, and was surprised when I figured out how integral pottery and ceramics are to the fabric of Canadian art. This discovery convinced me to continue my passion, which is making ceramics artwork and making conceptual sculptural ceramics became my new approach (like Inversion Collection, one side of the coin). Since I arrived in Canada, I have been making and teaching pottery and ceramics in various places such as the Markham Museum, Oshawa Art Resource Centre, and Visual Arts Center of Clarington. I am working on the second part of the collection (Upright Collection, the other side of the coin), accepting commissions and making some new series of applied/decorative pieces in my own studio.”
